Workshop Information

Their are currently three levels of workshop instruction in Australia. Once a consistent venue arrangement occurs I will be able to offer three day classes.

Internationally the Course is know known as IFR Foundations and IFR Advanced course.

These courses provides the manual therapist/massage practitioner with skills and techniques that utilize direct compressive and indirect osteopathic autonomic nervous system methods for the release of myofascia.

The following information will give you an opportunity to view what is taught in IFR training. This will include course objectives and a syllabus for Integrative Fascial Release..

The first level of training schedule is 24 hours of instruction on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Essentially all Level One material is presented on the first day, Saturday, with the second day, Sunday being a review and integration day. Sunday afternoon at 3PM, participants are requested to invite a client, friend or relative for one hour to practice the techniques presented during the weekend.

IFR Syllabus Day 1-2

Course Objectives

Participants will:

bullet

Obtain an understanding of myofascial treatment methods and how these methods are utilized within the scope of Integrative Fascial Release

bullet

Obtain a basic understanding of the concept of fascia, fascial structures and signs and symptoms of fascial contracture.

bullet

Practice direct and indirect technique application skills in relation to myofascial releasing.

bullet

Palpate and understand various myofascial restrictions.

bullet

Palpate and experience the release of various myofascial restrictions using crowding, shortening and compressive techniques

bullet

Obtain a basic understanding of the mechanisms involved in Autonomic Nervous System discharge as it relates to facilitating connective tissue release.

bullet

Begin to value the effects of myofascial release as a result of client feedback and personal experience.

bullet

Experience some level of competence while performing passive releases of transverse planes, superficial fascia, and facial unwinding of local restrictions.

bullet

Understand the principles of imagery and kinesthetic movement in relation to supporting the occurrence of active myofascial releases.

bullet

Identify some level of value in relation to the use of imagery and kinesthetic movement as a support technique.

bullet

Understand the concepts of passive positional release and practice techniques in passive positional releasing.

bullet

Understand the concepts, practice technique & experience engaging motion barriers and/or fascial restrictions that limit range of motion.

bullet

Palpate & practice myofascial release techniques from side-lying position.

bullet

Understand the concepts, practice palpation of rotational barriers to the extremities & torso of the body

bullet

Begin to develop personalized adaptations and techniques that integrate material to his/her own personal experience, style & professional practice.
